On November 3, the Minister of Transportation Steven Del Duca announced that the construction and maintenance contract for the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit project has been signed. Crosslinx Transit Solutions signed the $9.1 billion contract, to be delivered through an Infrastructure Ontario P3 (alternative finance and procurement) model contract by 2021. The contract includes a 30-year maintenance and life-cycle repair agreement.

The Crosstown project will run 19 km across Eglinton Avenue, between Weston Road and Kennedy Station. It will include 10 km of underground between Keele Street and Laird Drive and 25 stations and stops that will link to bus routes, three subway stations and various Go Transit lines. It is estimated that the project will employ approximately 2,500 works at its peak.

Crosslinx is a joint venture, with the consortium comprised of EllisDon, SNC-Lavalin, Aecon, and ACS.
