About the Session:
What is Mental Health First Aid?
- Mental Health First Aid is a 1-day certificate training program designed to empower you to be able to assist someone experiencing a mental health decline or crisis including yourself. It is currently in over 20 countries worldwide. The training provides knowledge and skills to recognize signs and symptoms and how to guide individuals toward professional help.
- Earn Certification from the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) as a certified Mental Health First Aider (MHFA).
- MHFA covers various mental health issues including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, misuse, and suicidal behaviour.
- The goal is to promote early intervention and support for those experiencing mental health challenges, like first aid for physical health emergencies.
Course Expectations:
Brenda D’Orazio Psychotherapy and Counselling will provide the access codes and logistics for the virtual self directed Module 1 directly to participants.
