New Mandatory Minimum Fines Under the Occupational Health & Safety Act

On November 27, 2024, the Ontario government introduced an amendment to Ontario’s OHS legislation, proposing an increase in the minimum financial penalty (to $625,000) for a corporation convicted for a second time under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
