New Regional Conservation Authority Mapping and Project Executives

The Government of Ontario is continuing to move forward with its efforts to streamline its environmental management framework by consolidating 36 individual conservation authorities into nine regional bodies under the centralized leadership of the new Ontario Provincial Conservation Agency (OPCA), guided by Chief Conservation Executive Hassan Basit, targeting a full operational transition by early 2027.

Last week, the OPCA announced the appointment of eight new Project Executives to support regional transition:

• Davin Heinbuck – Western Lake Erie RCA
• Samantha Lawson – Eastern Lake Erie RCA
• Sommer Casgrain-Robertson – St. Lawrence River RCA
• Alison McDonald – Eastern Lake Ontario RCA
• Don Goodyear – Lake Huron RCA
• Tim Commisso – Northeastern Ontario RCA
• Jacqueline Johnson – Western Lake Ontario RCA
• Robert Baldwin – Central Lake Ontario RCA
