Bill 146 – Significant Changes Proposed for Employment and Labour Laws

On December 4, 2013, the government introduced Bill 146, the Stronger Workplaces for a Stronger Economy Act, 2013. If passed, the Bill would make sweeping changes to the Employment Standards Act (ESA), the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA), and, The Labour Relations Act (LRA), among others. In particular, the Bill will significantly impact temporary help agencies and any company who uses the services of these agencies.
