On May 25, the OSWCA made an oral and written submission to the government Standing Committee on General Government as part of its review and consideration of Bill 6 – Infrastructure for Jobs and Prosperity Act. The Bill seeks to legislate a mandatory rolling 10-year infrastructure plan and a standardized set of criteria for prioritizing infrastructure investments across the province, both of which the OSWCA has been advocating for, for a number of years. We did make a request for a language change in the Bill, as one clause did aim to institute mandatory project-based apprenticeship quotas for all publicly funded projects.
Please see the attached OSWCA submission for your reference.
