OPS127 Equipment Rate Adjustments for 2026-2027

GTSWCA together with the Ontario Sewer and Watermain Construction Association (OSWCA), the Toronto Area Road Builders Association (TARBA) and the Heavy Construction Association of Toronto (HCAT) had written and submitted a joint industry letter to the Ministry of Transportation regarding the draft 2026 OPSS 127 Schedule of Rental Rates for Construction Equipment.

Together we recommended maintaining the 2025 OPSS 127 rates for the 2026 calendar year rather than implementing the changes rates calculated during the annual update process. 

In response to these concerns, a review of the key cost inputs was undertaken, including updated fuel price information to better align with current market conditions and account for recent fuel price volatility. As a result, the 2026 Schedule rates were recalculated using fuel pricing data from January to June 2026, rather than the traditional 12-month averaging period of April 2025 to March 2026.
